The Memphis Music Foundation will present Plug In Memphis: Indie Music Expo on January 27, 2009 at the Memphis Botanic Gardens from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. The event is designed to connect local musicians and music industry service providers.

Plug In Memphis will feature an exhibit area with booths representing all types of industry-related businesses from merchandisers, entertainment lawyers, promoters and publicists to recording studios, engineers and retailers. Another event feature is the Red Bull Music Academy Experts Lounge designed to give emerging acts access to experts in various fields for a one-on-one consultation. Plug In Memphis also includes a songwriter’s showcase, and keynote address on a crucial music industry topic.
The Memphis Music Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to working with the community to cultivate a viable economic engine for Memphis by providing musicians and the music industry with resources and opportunities for growth and independence. The Foundation exists to educate the music community about music business systems and trends, help artists develop plans for future business growth, and create dynamic marketing and promotional opportunities for Memphis music. The Foundation‘s anchor program, the Music Resource Center is an interactive, living library that offers a dedicated staff, tools, education programs, and resources to help area musicians and music professionals be successful in the business of music. The Foundation is funded, in part, by public and private funds provided through the Economic Development (MemphisED) Plan, designed to ensure economic growth and prosperity in Memphis and Shelby County. MemphisED is part of a broader growth initiative called Memphis Fast Forward, which also includes programs advancing workforce/education, public safety, and government efficiency.

This is without a doubt the most in depth, thoughtful and seemingly honest interview I’ve seen with Robert Pattinson. Rob hasn’t always been comfortable or prepared for interviews and who could be with them flying at you from all directions in the street, alleys, studios. But he is very at ease, not rushed and the interviewer gives him not only good questions but lots of room to respond, think and reply completely to. So often they talk over him just about the time he’s decided what he wants to say. He is thoughtful so he likes to think through answers and they don’t normally wait for him. This one is awesome and you really get to know him better. WATCH THE VIDEO

BILL AND I ATTENDED THE MEMPHIS PREMIER TUESDAY AND THE MOVIE IS WONDERFUL!! Thank God! I was so worried that I loved the books too much to not be disappointed over the changes needed to bring it to film but I am soooo pleased! Blown away really at how much and how easily I love the movie just as much! I am so thankful to the cast and directors and crews for everything they put into this movie to bring it to life for all of us!!! I LOVE IT! I’ll be seeing it at least 3 more times on the weekend!! Screen 1 at the Paradiso people! See it there if at all possible! Its AWESOME !! Read the rest of this entry »
